Atlanta-based rapper Derez De'Shon scores his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated Feb. 17), as "Hardaway" debuts at No. 90.
"Hardaway," which also re-enters Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs at a new peak of No. 39 (after debuting on the Feb. 3-dated chart), raked in 7 million U.S. streams (up 17 percent), 11 million radio audience impressions (up 10 percent) and 1,000 downloads sold (up 2 percent) in the week ending Feb. 8, according to Nielsen Music.
The song's spike is sparked by engagement around its video, which the MC released Jan. 15. The clip has surged to 12 million global YouTube views since its posting.De'Shon concurrently jumps 30-25 for a new high on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart.
"Hardaway" marks De'Shon's first solo appearance on any Billboard chart. It first debuted on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop airplay tally in December and hits a new high of No. 13 on the latest list. It also reaches a new best rank of No. 17 on Rap Airplay.
The track appears on De'Shon's debut set Pain, which he released last August. Before recording his solo music. De'Shon recorded and collaborated with numerous rappers, including Waka Flocka Flame, Birdman, Jacquees and Rich Gang.
