On the heels of releasing the elaborate Emil Nava-directed video to "River," Eminem returns with the clever lyric video to Revival's political anthem, "Untouchable." The Mr. Porter-produced track is filled with references to controversial topics in America such as police brutality, white privilege, and systematic racism.
The innovative video takes you through a social media feed on various platforms of hypothetical reactions to a tragedy. People tend to go straight to social media now to voice their opinion on current events happening throughout the world. Instead of those opinions, Em shrewdly inputs "Untouchable" lyrics on the screen where typical posts would show up on Instagram and Facebook.
The visual features recorded livestream cameos from Slaughterhouse’s KXNG Crooked, as well as Revival producers Mr. Porter and Mark Batson. The single's lyric video has accumulated nearly 470,000 views since being released on Friday at midnight (Feb. 16). Eminem's creativity rarely disappoints, as he continues to think outside the box, while adjusting to the evolving hip-hop landscape.
