SZA delivers another visual from her acclaimed debut album Ctrl. The 27-year-old heads to the desert with Kendrick Lamar in the Nabil-directed "Doves in the Wind" video, which premiered via Spotify on Friday (April 27). The TDE head honcho morphs into his Kung Fu Kenny alter-ego to train SZA, who challenges him repeatedly as his protege throughout the clip.
The visual opens with the "Broken Clocks" singer trekking through the uninhabited landscape on a horse with Kendrick sharpening his skills on a mountaintop. Lamar uses his master powers to make the precious neophyte's journey as tough as possible before meeting face-to-face while meditating in mid-air.
The New Jersey native makes light work of Kendrick's team of guards who protect the master's premises. SZA then challenges Kung Fu Kenny to a duel of her own to test how far she's really come. The student ultimately proves her worthiness and disposes of Kendrick as he lies helplessly on the ground trying to process what just transpired. SZA then floats away angelically into the sky with the video coming to a close.
