In the black-and-white clip, frontman Dave Grohl is seen dragging his guitar up a hill before he is met by a beautiful yet eerie woman who continually grabs him. Scenes of the rocker dead in the grass and running through a pitch black forest weave through the scene.
Grohl continues his quest up the hill, this time with the woman on his back. When he gets to the top, he finds a coffin on fire. The rocker drops to his knees and the video ends with Grohl digging his own grave.
“It’s crazy, the idea for that video came from a dream I had when I was when 14 or 15 that I’ve remembered my entire life,” Grohl told NME of the inspiration behind the clip. “I was standing at the bottom of this hill and there was this coffin on fire next to this dead tree and I ran up the hill to rescue whoever was in this coffin, but I couldn’t get my hands on it because it was on fire! I stood there filled with anxiety and fear, but I’ve remembered it my entire f---ing life and never knew what it meant.”
Dave Grohl Writes Adorable Song For Nandi Bushell For Round 2 of Their Drum-OffOn a more heartwarming note, the video comes a day after Grohl agreed to write a song with drumming protégé Nandi Bushell. The rocker and the 10-year-old have been wrapped up in an incredible drum-off since August.
The two met for the first time (virtually) on Monday (Nov. 9) thanks to The New York Times. "Meeting Mr. Grohl was one of the best experiences of my life! Dave Grohl is so awesome, kind and friendly!" Bushell wrote in the description of the video. "I cant believe he wants to write a song with me and asked me to perform on stage with the @Foo Fighters! How EPIC is that!"
